Managing staff
Staff members are the professionals customers can book. Their working hours and schedule exceptions define the times your booking page offers.
Add a staff member
- Select the location, open Staff and click Add staff.
- Enter a Name and a short description shown to customers (for example "Senior stylist, colour specialist").
- Leave Active (bookable) checked so the person appears on the booking page.
- Set Working hours and save.
Working hours
For each weekday you can add one or more start–end intervals. Use two intervals to model a lunch break or a split shift, for example 09:00–13:00 and 14:00–18:00. A day with no interval is a day off. Times are in the location's timezone.
Schedule exceptions
Exceptions override the weekly pattern for a single date:
- Day off (all day) – holidays, sick days.
- Time off / break – a start and end time that becomes unavailable, such as a dentist appointment.
- Custom working hours – replace that day's hours with a different start and end.
Existing appointments are not moved automatically when you add an exception. Check the calendar first and reschedule if needed.
Salary and commission
Each staff member can have a pay model: no fixed salary, a fixed base salary per month, or a percentage commission on the revenue they generate. This is only used by the payroll runner on the Expenses page; it never appears to customers.
Deactivating staff
Staff cannot be deleted, because their past appointments and sales stay in your reports. Instead, use Deactivate: the person disappears from the booking page and from new-appointment forms, and gets an inactive badge in the list. Reactivate them at any time.
